about
originally written and demo-ed by Joey Welch in 1996 for Johnny Socko's Full Trucker Effect album the demo was lost. The 4-track cassette resurfaced in 2013 and the band liked it so much that they decided to go back into the studio for the first time in a decade to record the song.
lyrics
straight up through the top
a thousand stations, forty thousand watts
yeah we're strikin' it hot hot hot but still
we can't get out of the parking lot
yeah man, it's the simple things
my friends you all know what I mean
the phone rings, it's the same old same old thing
Jacknife
how'd we get into this?
what you tryin' to say
press us on press us on
the dues we got to pay
that's right, that's right!
we're burning bridges just to light our wahy
opportunity knocks
opportunity knockers
lady luck just slapped my face
what'd I say?
We're burning bridges just to light our way...
